That’s the estimate from my local insurance-approved body shop for the hail damage to my car. I think it’s safe to say that an estimate of $200 more than my car is worth will total it.

Don’t forget it.

It’s okay. I learned that my sister’s car is totaled today. But, the search will be much different...

Yes. Her fault, though. But guess who was about to have ownership transferred to her, as well as an unused $30,000 from her education IRA?
My sister.

how bad does the hail damage look?
EDIT: Looked at your post history instead of being an idiot and just asking. I mean yeah its pretty obvious I guess but I would definitely consider a buyback if you just wanted reliable transportation. Then pocket a good chunk of money for other use in life. You can then sell the car later on and get more than the buyback probably since it runs fine.

That’s really a shame, but cars can be replaced, people can’t.

Paint it white and it’d belong on a golf course

Thanks! I’m hoping state farm will be generous but I have plenty of options, it’s a matter of weeding through the dozens of jalopys to get to the good ones
